Based out of Brooklyn, NY, AVEC was founded by former Columbia Business School colleagues Dee Charlemagne and Alex Doman, who saw the need for mixers that don’t sacrifice flavor and aren’t loaded with sugar. AVEC derives from the French word “with” which Alex says was deliberately conjunctive, making it ideal for a bar call. Their light effervescence allows you to enjoy the mixers by themselves or pair them with a non-alcoholic spirit for a sensible yet tasty mocktail. Seeing as how the flavor is perfectly balanced, it takes all the guesswork out of the equation. They’re also low-calorie and have less than four grams of sugar per serving. You won’t be able to hide that bargain bin vodka with AVEC Yuzu & LIme like you would with other artificially flavored mixers that are loaded with sugar. But that is the point! You’re not a kid anymore, and your mixers should reflect that.
